We were immediately charmed about a month back after encountering "Stop Staring", the irresistible and undeniably promising debut single from Beirut's Laeticia Acra, aka Japan, Man. It's a dreamy, youthful jam that reminds us a bit of Clairo's endearing bedroom pop (Acra is a big fan), with an infectious, Men I Trust-esque soft funk vibe and a sparkling chorus that's impossible to shake after one listen. It is also notable and perhaps worth mentioning -- and just a little mind-blowing given how great this song is -- that Acra is only 14 years old. We're honored to premiere the very first Japan, Man video, a sweet and playful visual accompaniment befitting a song that has quickly become one of our favorite things this year, starring and directed by Acra herself.
