Shout out to the Fader for the premiere, in which they astutely call the surreal, glowing, Lykke Hagen-directed visuals "a chic neo-noir dance party for one", also noting the strong Twin Peaks vibe. We're psyched to premiere the visuals for "Connector", the darkly mesmeric new single from Penelope Trappes' forthcoming album Penelope Two, due next week on Fabric's Houndstooth label. In tandem, the song and its striking accompanying visuals -- which were directed by Penelope with Agnes Haus, and are intended to be an "isolating and direct personification of Penelope's search to bring light into the dark and emotional period of her own life" -- elicit a hauntingly spectral Under the Skin vibe, with harrowing but hopeful themes of rebirth/renewal, beautifully blurring the lines between eerie conjuring and meditative lullaby...
New Zealand's Hollie Fullbrook, aka Tiny Ruins, shares the second resplendent single from her forthcoming LP Olympic Girls, coming in early 2019. Fullbrook says of the "Olympic Girls" visuals, which were directed + edited by Charlotte Evans, "I wanted the video to contrast with the one for 'How Much.' Where that was glamorous, shadowy and elusive, I wanted this to be exposed, in plain view - in the light of day". Watch below:
