Australian artist Annika Schmarsel aka Alice Ivy drops the absurdly charming video for her glorious new sunshine soul anthem (and her favorite song she's ever written) "In My Mind", featuring a triumphant and effortlessly cool assist from Ecca Vandal. Alice Ivy says that when she started writing the song, "I was picturing myself as a 10-year-old child riding my bike through the park in summer holding an ice cream in one hand," adding, "I wanted to create that exact same exciting feeling of the endless summer holidays and with nowhere important to be." She brings those fleeting summer vibes to life beautifully with the help of director Claudia Sangiorgi Dalimore, who recently co-directed the documentary Her Sound Her Story, an "intimate conversation unveiling the personal experiences, histories, and significant social impacts of women in the Australian music industry". Claudia tells us about capturing Alice Ivy's unbridled exuberance and sick dance moves in the video, which was shot in a gorgeous, otherworldly cactus garden:

"The first time I saw Alice Ivy perform, I was taken by her movement on stage, it was so liberated. Full of joy, so connected to the music without inhibition. I wanted to capture that essence on film. To me, the sound of “in my mind” feels like floating through a colourful landscape inside the imagination."

"In My Mind" is the feel-good summer jam we needed right now, and it's out today on Last Gang.
