Damn. This video had me super-excited at the beginning, but it felt like they ran out of ideas halfway through. They had me at ‘creepy black chicks in kabuki masks standing around like the twins from The Shining’ but just couldn’t follow through.
im pretty sure those are guys in the masks. i.e. no boobies. well… guy ones.

By the 3rd minute it’s just boring. “imma imma imma…” yawn.
I had my MPC hooked up while this was playing, not even half way through I was making this beat bounce hahaha. there will be some remixes of this on youtube im sure.

violent and sad. can’t believe a woman can rap these lyrics in good conscience. “ima cut that bitch, ima bleed that bitch…?” This is no joke…raping women as a weapon of war is still being used all around the world, and these clowns are rapping about violence against women with the motif of schoolgirls playing double dutch throughout the video? tasteless, ignorant shit. call this what it is.

I’m not going to claim to understand the lyrics and their meaning but you obviously have no clue what you’re talking about.

You don’t actually know they’re talking about a woman. Bitch is not just used for females today (or for a while for that matter), it’s used for men and even objects. Hell, maybe it’s even metaphorical. In no way did I ever get the sense that they were promoting violence against women, and I’m a girl so I’m pretty sensitive to that.

This video made my day… maybe it’s b/c I work in higher ed, or maybe b/c it’s just a sick track.
Wow, this is a weird song, but it’s sort of powerful.
It makes me uncomfortable, but I honestly don’t think it’s advocating sexual violence. It’s more complicated than that. Think about the fact that they both repeat the line “I’m that bitch.” It’s a strange song, but it left a very strong impression on me. Can’t stop listening.

I agree with you entirely. It’s haunting and hypnotic and it makes me feel awkward but I can’t stop listening to it. It’s poetry more than a song, I think.
i think to those that got bored, they just dont understand (theyre probably white). im a really pretty mixed chick and i remember being in school and girls just like looking at me and being like ima beat you up! and like it was super intense and made me who i am today like no one fucks with me, and then like black women (and now gay black men) often use the term ‘read’ like im gonna read her ass to mean like im just gonna talk so much shit about her in this situation that she wont be able to say shit and like you know, sometimes you gotta just bang on stupid bitches and this song really embodies that like spirit but it’s talking about like not being immature about it just being so on that next level above someone else that like you’re just gonna read their ass, idk, it’s kind of hard to explain but i love every moment, especially the second verse i just think you guys dont get it
imagine someone writing a song about ‘calabunga’ fuck idk i can’t help you be actually cool this blog just helps you pretend

also like she does talk very violently but first she’s like “outline of the points” “i called you a slut” “ima tell the whole school you’re a stupid bitch” like reading someone is relatively nonviolent, it’s more like a bullying tactic of girls, i think the more violent lyrics are just cause like sometimes that shit hurts!
You used to post some really good music.

This is the ISHHHHHH! I LOVE IT!
The song comes from gay ball culture. “Reading” is trading insults.
An explanation of reading: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_mPXozlU6Y
LOVED the song, had to do a remix http://soundcloud.com/snakatak/ima-read-snakatak-remix
