Minus pompadour/collagen. I think she’d be sexier if she was plain-clothed and not trying to come off as sexy. No need to reinvent the wheel. The song itself is pretty decent, though, and the old home movie clips are touching. Just need to try to forget the uncomfortable parts where she stares at the camera.

Agreed. Trying too hard to be sexy is for people with nothing else going for them. If you have something good going for you and yet you try extremely hard to look attractive, you tend to either come off as awkward or narcissistic (e.g., half the people in American Psycho).

She doesn’t look like she is trying too hard. Since when is looking into a camera trying to be sexy. She just is and why would you be uncomfortable with her looking into the camera it’s a video…lol Love her steez
I wonder if she’s being ironic. I hope so. I only say that because I can’t believe someone would actually pout and purr that much for the camera these days if they want to be taken seriously. ..but we’re talking about her….
GREAT SONG WIL BE A BIG HIT ,NICE TOUCH IN REPEATINNG VERSE VIDEO TOUCH ,BRILLIANT , GOOD LUCK

Random video, great song. Who is the drunk girl at 1:58?
Lana Del Ray: Video Games. Her vocals are raspy and nostalgic somewhere between Cat Power and Patsy Cline. The lyrics and cadence are ominous. The song harkens images of an impending resolution, a metaphorical storm on the horizon; the perfect soundtrack to young and turbulent love on foreboding July evenings.
Great song and really great voice. Someone needs to tell her she’s already very pretty, she doesn’t need to put that shit in her lips, it makes them look deformed.

for a song that’s relying a whole lot on voice to carry itself, the lyrics are pretty lame.

Poor shout, the lyrics are very good. They’re understated and very carefully chosen words. They tie into together superbly to create the image of relationship really well. Lines like ‘this is all i think of’ are so simple but capture a emotion in its entirety.
Brilliant song.

This is good! I don’t know about her pout – I think she could do better for herself. She certainly looks like Angelina Jolie. Her voice is great, and I actually like the lyrics.

Feel like this has unusual depth and vibe. It’s titled Video Games and the lyrics surrounding those words make me return. Very refreshing.
This is totally good and I can see the Cat Power comparisons. I totally feel like she is looking at herself in all of the clips of her singing – like she recorded them on PhotoBooth or something. Hah! Other than that I think this is awesome
The song is pretty, but I agree that the video needs some help. It never seems like she’s actually singing when she’s on camera. Lends the whole thing a rather forced, unnecessary detachment when the song is quite soulful. I wonder if the director connected to the song.

wow, this song is lovely. it’s really workin’ that magical jon brion/ fiona apple vibe.
i’ve got this, the new sleep over, and the peggy lee tune from miranda july’s ‘the future’ on mega repeat right now.
Wow her voice makes me feel all sentimental and romantic and sexy all at the same time…

I think it’s kind of idiotic to really be that concerned with how she looks. Typical, irrelevant-to-the-music bullshit. I agree that she doesn’t need the make-up, but would we really be criticizing the fashion choices of a male artist this way?

I can’t stop listening to this song. It reminds me of Nancy Sinatra. Not the voice, but the feeling. Unfortunately, Lana Del Rey looks like a drunk collagen junkie. And the rest of her music, at least what I’ve been able to find, is extremely obnoxious. I don’t like it when people with natural vocal talent use gross affected voices to sing with.

Reminds me of a cross between Fiona Apple and Nellie McKay. Would not be out of place on a split single with Fiona Apple’s “Waltz”.
her and Lykke Li. On my list of hot indie chick for sure!

This song is sad . . . “only worth living if someone is loving you”? Makes you wonder why she had the lips done after all. I know it’s not about the lips but shit, the song is about living for someone else . . . isn’t that why people alter their faces in the first place? So they can finally feel the assurance that others think they’re beautiful?

the video itself is very random.
Really? Not that it’s anything groundbreaking but I can’t think of many less “random” videos that I’ve ever seen
when’s she going on tour with this

Random video, great song. Who is the drunk girl at 1:58?
paz de la huerta
it looks like the actress who plays steve buscemi’s first girlfriend/mistress in “Boardwalk Empire,” but I don’t know her name
check the post tags, that’s exactly who it is, her name’s paz de la huerta
Many of the images match the lyrics. DO YOU PEOPLE KNOW WHAT RANDOM IS?
Its Paz de la Huerta – from Boardwalk Empire and Enter the Void – just been taken away from Golden Globes for being too wrecked
definitely thought it was the chic from enter the void at first glance. fuck you gaspar noe!
Is the guy who asks her if she is alright Seth Rogen? Really sounds like him – could not really see though.
fantasia, yes
cant stop listening… holy shit.

The voice is Cat Power x Martha Wainwright.
garbage
Interesting combination: Film Noir, the lyrics, her charisma!
But I think “kinda outta luck” is a better song.
why has pitchfork not covered this
she looks like the younger, actually talented sister of Kim Zolciak from Real Housewives of Atlanta
DING DING DING DING DING
so accurate
Love the song, Like the video, Distracted by the lips. Overall, Legit.
my heads are at odds
I seriously doubt she has ever played a video game.
