Our Texas Summer 2016 shows happen next week in Austin + Dallas, and we are very excited to announce that multi-faceted Philadelphia producer/singer/visual artist Arielle Herman, aka QUALIATIK, has joined the already amazing lineup of Jessy Lanza, Yumi Zouma, DJ Taye of the Teklife crew, and Kedr Livanskiy...
As we approach the midway point of what has been an overwhelming year for new music, here's the ever-evolving list of our favorite records of (roughly) the first half of 2016. Favorite songs of the year (SO FAR) coming later this week:
Jessy Lanza + drummer Tori Tizzard recently performed some highlights from Lanza's new record Oh No during a recent studio session for CBC Music, and they also mixed in a couple of classics from her debut Pull My Hair Back (fun fact: the vocal sample in "Kathy Lee" is actually Kate Upton saying "cat daddy" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Watch a few of the highlights below, check the whole performance over on CBC's youtube channel, and see Jessy + Tori do their thing live at one of our Texas Summer shows next month:
Christie Sealey is one half of Orphx and Rich Oddie is the other. They are both from Hamilton. Christie and I share a studio where I do music and she has a painting studio. She is one of my best friends and (similar to Jason) is another synthesis wizard I have the fortune of being friends with. She has helped me with studio and software problems more times than I can count. -- Jessy Lanza
