Toronto's Linnea Siggelkow aka Ellis shares the prismatic video for one of the emotional highlights from her lovely 2018 debut EP The Fuzz, soon to get a much-deserved, proper vinyl release via Fat Possum. Video directed by Andy Friesen + Linnea Siggelkow. Watch below, look out for Ellis down in Austin at SXSW in March, and pre-order the record on limited coke bottle green vinyl here.
"Cool 2 was one of the first songs we wrote for the EP. We like it because it is short, but it also represents what we want to do as a band. We tried to create an atmosphere around a short chord progression."
Dreams is the beautiful new 3-song EP from Amsterdam synth-pop artist Sofie Winterson, out tomorrow on Dutch label Magnetron. Lasting just over 10 minutes and starting with the lovely, glimmering title track, the whole thing is a graceful, fleeting, achingly melancholy affair, but I feel like the low-key standout here is the bittersweet "I Only Wanted You", which sounds a bit like a gentler, sweeter, more unabashedly romantic version of some of the Knife's earliest jams:
Panda Bear keeps the PBVSGR-related gems coming with his brand new Crosswords EP, featuring a new mix of the album highlight, along with a glorious studio version of live favorite "Jabberwocky", re-worked versions of "The Preakness" + "Cosplay", and new track "No Man's Land" (fka "Papadum"), which gets a trippy animated visual by Patakk:
