Before influential Scottish '80s pop/new-wave cult heroes Strawberry Switchblade were a duo, they were a short-lived 4-piece, formed in Glasgow in 1982. There is very little evidence of this first, "full band" incarnation of the group, aside from a few grainy photos and a charming, lo-fi, C86-prophesizing 3-song demo tape recorded at Glasgow's Hellfire Club, to be reissued in early 2017 on Glaswegian label Night School Records. The lost demo, which has been circulating for years via rips of questionable quality, will be the first official Strawberry Switchblade release in 30 years, remastered and restored from the original cassette. Listen to the jangly, previously unreleased "Spanish Song" below, and pre-order the limited 7" (300 clear / 700 black) here or via Rough Trade/Monorail.
