We were introduced to the music of New Zealand's inimitable Aldous Harding back in 2015 by Christie Simpson of Yumi Zouma, and after a couple years of being destroyed by "Stop Your Tears" every single time we heard it, we were finally #blessed to catch an unforgettable performance by Aldous last week at the beautiful Boise Contemporary Theater as part of Treefort Fest (trust me, go to this instead of SXSW next year if you're able). Seeing Aldous play songs from her incredible new record Party -- along with a goosebump-inducing McCartney cover -- in a tiny and eerily quiet black box theater from roughly 6 feet away was an unnervingly intimate and uniquely vulnerable experience, causing us to remain noticeably shook for at least a few hours post-show. Today, Aldous shares the Charlotte Evans-directed video for her devastating new single and album highlight "Imagining My Man", which features additional vocals from Perfume Genius. It's an elegant, achingly sad gem that had us fully smitten from that first, jarring "Hey!" Party is out May 19th on 4AD.
