Love all things nite jewel, but I do have to say the YT label kind of screwed me over with the “Sister” single. First off, it shipped about a month and a half late, so, worrying, I ordered two copies (really– that’s fine, the single’s dope). The real problem was that both discs were horribly warped and they were both misprinted. Seems YT doesn’t really “get” the value of proper customer service, because they never responded to any of my emails. Hopefully this will improve, but just a heads up is all.
as someone who runs a small vinyl-only label, i’ve encountered all of those problems myself (late/lost orders, warped vinyl, misprints). so much is out of the label’s control. not saying those aren’t valid complaints, but YT isn’t “screwing you over” intentionally. try emailing them again, they’re all standup dudes
yeah, “screwed me over” is pretty dramatic. I mean, clearly I’m not too upset about it (again, was fine with receiving two copies). I sent multiple emails though. Not saying this isn’t out of their hands, but I was a little peeved by lack of communication (I would have REALLY appreciated an email saying when the preorders shipped out). Either way, my tone was too harsh and waaaay hyperbolic. I just wish there was a way for me to pay extra on shipping to get more pristine wax or just something I could do (hell, I’ll fly to SF and get a stack myself and give em to record stores around here).
The Dent May and Earth Girl singles I got from forest family were both misprinted and I still love you, dude :)
