A$AP!!!
stamp of approval
We knew that this mixtape was going to be great, but what I’m really impressed with is the production work from Clams Casino. Smooth.
A$AP Rocky messed around and maybe made the rap album of the year.
i was skeptical – but chopped and screwed harlem raps is a formula that works!
@E.
Naw that’s still Kendrick Lamar’s Section 80
why does everyone think section.80 is great
srsly
@Grizz- Point taken. Both are dope in different ways.
pretty rad, but gets a little boring after a while
Great Mixtape, and honestly the 3 million dollar harlem kid is making a real name for himself. Love it .
sick!
download link for ” download the whole mixtape here.” inst working though :(
2/3 of the album is about him getting paid and getting girls… but the other 1/3 is a gem. oh and CLAMS killed it again.
to be honest tho, thats probably 2/3 of his life right now so at least hes honest
links are dead – SOS

Sickest flow going, but NO CONTENT. This guy could kill it, literally be the biggest thing if he had any-fucking-thing to say. He’s the greatest thing since early Pusha in terms of his follow-through, but really, GBV, can anybody say WHAT’S THIS GUY’S BEST LINE? i’d go with “only thing bigger than my ego is my mirror.” and that makes me die a little inside.
@stevie, I agree with your comment. This mix-tape is oozing with potential. While the production value is on point, represented by the beats of: Clams Casino, ASAP Ty Beats & Spaceghost Purrp; the lyrical content is not. After reading/watching numerous interviews with ASAP Rocky, I think it’s safe to conclude that he is a pretty articulate person; although it doesn’t show in his raps. Yes, maybe he is rapping about a lifestyle that is “true-to-heart”, but the way in which he presents himself could be a bit more… individualistic (Gangstarr, Mos Def). But he is young, so only time will tell the true value of this artist.
As he says in “Purple Chapter 2″ : “Niggas ain’t ready for the flow switch.” And he does, he hits the meters without hesitation; something few understand in rap, yet I happen to believe he has something much better than this in store, it explains his $3M salary to a record label who got lucky, in comparison to the others who were probably looking for the short-term profit. He isn’t afraid to make this message clear to his contemporaries, some as victims of deception by the music industry, “Cause they shelf kids and it’s hopeless/Career dying quicker than a goldfish.”
Like a true artist, this guy is conscious of the music industry thwarting his career. And the type of confidence he carries is going to push him forward and allow him to be approachable to other producers and artists currently outside of his realm. The type of confidence he has is driven by how ingenuous (not to be confused with ingenious. Please.)his work may get. If he doesn’t persist in his chances, and persevere, he will become a ‘goldfish,’ that which he fears and disdains.
To be honest, his acceptance of the $3M from the big label displays to Tyler The Creator, the amount of power the corps still have over the music industry. If Tyler doesn’t distribute more, perhaps he will be the goldfish.
is this the kinda guy you would want to support? who beats up a stagehand who was just doing his job? read up on the story at fader fort. i dislike this crew, there’s no positivity there.
nice mixtape! it could the rap mixtape of the year with kendrick lamar section 80 ,jay z and kanye west watch the throne, shabazz palacez and big k.r.i.t. and jedi mind tricks
