Another hit from Captured Tracks, in the form of the new 7″ single from Brooklyn’s Widowspeak: The band’s already garnered quite a few Mazzy Star comparisons, and this new 7″ version of “Harsh Realm” — the original appeared on the band’s debut tape that dropped late last year — is a woozy little ’60s-meets-’90s gem that definitely recalls the haunting, lovesick sweetness of “Fade Into You.” Doesn’t hurt that singer Molly Hamilton‘s dreamy voice is a dead ringer for Hope Sandoval’s:

Widowspeak :: Harsh Realm

Widowspeak’s Harsh Realm / Burnout 7″ is out March 8. First 400 on white vinyl, cop it from Captured Tracks.
