Austin’s Boy Friend is the new project of (former?) Sleep ∞ Over members Christa Palazzolo + Sarah Brown. Christa sent over the duo’s gorgeous, soaring new EP, which glows with the same cavernous, ghostly dream-pop vibes that earned Sleep ∞ Over’s devastating Forest Family 7″ all of those Cocteau Twins/Beach House comparisons:

Agreed! It would be a shame if they have parted ways, as Sleep ∞ Over moved labels to Hippos in Tanks and were apparently working on an album, plus Stefanie was the one who was reputed to be the big Cocteau Twins fan (whom I adore).
This is lovely haziness again – perhaps not quite hitting the heights of Outer Limits/La Rose but then that took a while to sink in before becoming my favourite single of last year.
The use of “(former?)” is scary. I really hoped to see more from Sleep ∞ Over.
