Here’s another track from the irresistibly ramshackle debut full-length from Vivian Girls + Woods collab / side-project the Babies. A despondent Cassie Ramone gets kind of raw on the stark, love-damaged “Wild I,” which will also be released alongside “Wild II” by new label LebensStrasse sometime in February on the appropriately titled The Wilds limited 7″ EP (pictured).

Wild I. The Babies. Vivian Girls + Woods = The Babies. If you are not familiar with the critically acclaimed bands, Vivian Girls or Woods, then the aforementioned equation probably does not mean much to you. Or you could just be really bad at arithmetic. Honestly, I would have more respect for you if you knew these bands but could not pass a first grade math class, but I digress. Both of these bands have been lauded for their novel low-fi sounds, I think Woods only uses instrumentation from the Paleolithic Era. While they have both produced amazing single tracks (“Rain On” by Woods and “Tell the World by Vivian Girls), their albums did not come off as a whole. However, what they lacked individually seems to have been compensated in this seamless convergence of two unique sounds.
