Washed Out shares jazzy summer jam “Hard to Say Goodbye”
Washed Out shares another absolute gem from his new visual album Mister Mellow, out later this month on Stones Throw. "Hard to Say Goodbye" is an infectious jazz-inflected summer jam with a disco groove and a breezy, luminous vibe that belies Ernest Greene's darker, wistful lyrical sentiment. It's also another gleaming representation of the record's incredibly vivid detail, and of Greene's evolution as a producer -- and more specifically, as a beat-maker in the classic Stones Throw tradition -- while those unmistakable vintage Washed Out vocals will have his day-ones swooning. Look for this one to be ubiquitous on discerning dancefloors and everywhere else by about mid-summer.
Mister Mellow is out 6/30. As we've mentioned a time or two, we're honored to have Washed Out not only headlining this year's GvsB VI show in August at the Bomb Factory, but also co-curating the lineup. Get tickets here.
