No one cares about your label's video budget in 2015. The music vids that we found most moving and memorable this year were, in most cases, simple (with a few glossy and/or cinematic exceptions), powerful, often self-directed visual interpretations of our favorite songs. Also featuring one brilliant video made of found footage that seems to have been effectively scrubbed from the internet forever. Here are our favorite music videos of the year:

21 CHARLI XCX | Famous (director: Eric Wareheim)

20 FREDDIE GIBBS | Fuckin' Up The Count (director: Jonah Schwartz)

19 ALLIE X | Catch (director: Jérémie Saindon)

04 KENDRICK LAMAR | Alright (director: Colin Tilley)

02 J DILLA | Donuts (unofficial video)

This incredible, surprisingly touching, 44-minute Donuts tribute, made up of rare found footage and ephemera relating to the original sample sources from Dilla's 2006 masterpiece, vanished so quickly after it first appeared on the internet back in January that there's a small chance I just imagined the whole thing. I'm pretty sure it actually existed though, so let us know if you're holding and we'll re-post it here.

01 GRIMES | REALiTi (director: Grimes)
