Gorilla vs. Bear’s Songs of 2023
One the heels of our accurate albums of 2023 list, we present our 50 favorite songs of the year: this one feels a bit anticlimactic, seeing as how we declared Lana Del Rey’s “A&W” our song of the year the first time we heard it at the beginning of ‘23, it was still our SOTY at halftime, it's been sitting atop that playlist on the right side of this site all year long, and it feels as close to a consensus song of the year as we've seen in years. If it's not your song of the year too, I'll assume you haven't heard it yet. BUT, the rest of the list features an array of sick songs we haven’t seen in too many other spots (and “Super Shy”, of course). Luminelle releases excluded.
