Ali Berger has been at Katoi, a northern Thai eatery in Detroit, for the past year. He’s since then helped develop a music program there, booking DJs and playing records every Tuesday. Ali’s music is super danceable but has a weirdness to it that makes it really unique. I asked him if he considers the food when curating and he told me there’s definitely a connection with the atmosphere of the place and the nature of the food and drinks—somewhere between a party and a sort of intrepid experience (which is totally what his music sounds like to me). Ali is also a part of the Firm Tracks family alongside Davis Galvin! -- Yaeji
