video premiere: V.V. Lightbody – Fig Leaves

We're pleased to debut the exquisite new single and video from Chicago's Vivian McConnell, aka V.V. Lightbody. A highlight from her excellent forthcoming debut LP Bathing Peach, "Fig Leaves" is a serene and lush reverie that transcends standard indie-folk fare, thanks to its gorgeous, gently swelling instrumentation, distinctly vivid lyrical phrasing, and that elegant and unmistakable Brazilian vibe. Best experienced with director Rachel Winslow's dream-like accompanying visuals, the calming track is a perfect introduction to V.V. Lightbody's ethereal, self-proclaimed "nap-rock".
