video premiere: August Eve – “You Already Know”

We're psyched to premiere the video for this smoldering, undeniably cinematic torch song from native Angeleno August Eve, taken from her stellar new self-released double A-side single. "You Already Know" is a timeless and sweepingly romantic pop ballad, falling somewhere in the lineage of classic, swooning girl-group melodrama meets modern Lynchian noir. The song's grainy VHS visuals, shot in DTLA + edited by Aaron Sinclair, radiate quintessential L.A. glamour, all hazy magic hour glow and blue velvet, and starring a shadowy soft-focus August Eve. The whole affair reminds us just a bit of the feeling we had the first time we heard "Video Games", if not in sound then certainly in its kindred "Hollywood sadcore" spirit.
