Our official apocalyptic 2019 summer jam™ gets a delightfully chilly vid from esteemed filmmaker Pete Ohs, who came out of music video retirement for this one (you might recall Pete's work on this all-time proto-chillwave classic, as well as his vids for Best Coast, Wavves, and others). Starring Mag Bay's Mica + Matthew in a heartwarming L.A. love story for these dark modern times. The duo says about the sparkling and infectiously breezy "Venice":

“We’d been writing some pretty intense pop songs and then Venice came out of nowhere -- this sort of hypnotic music box that really pulled us in. For me, when I listen to it I hear something in the synths that just feels like the ocean...something dark or unexpected lurking underneath the lightness of the song. The apocalyptic undertone to the romantic beach day is meant to complement that.”
