Unfinished and lo-fi funky AF, his diamonds-in-the-rough tend to be better than most of the stuff in the same vein that's being hyped these days...

Psyched to premiere the new EP from Bloomington's Permit, the new project from Jack Andrew and the prolific Drew Auscherman of Hoops. The duo makes blistering, super infectious, feel-good lo-fi garage-pop/punk rippers -- think “Thin Lizzy, but twice as fast”, in the band's own words -- that feel like fleeting, sub-2:00 bursts of hazy sunshine that never overstay their welcome...

Hoops unveil another absolute gem from their forthcoming self-titled EP, due later this month on Fat Possum: Listen to the dreamily wistful "Gemini", which the band intended to be "a sort of dramatic Fleetwood Mac sounding thing", below + pre-order the EP here:

"Cool 2 was one of the first songs we wrote for the EP. We like it because it is short, but it also represents what we want to do as a band. We tried to create an atmosphere around a short chord progression."
