Jason Molina was a huge inspiration to me as a songwriter, and his album 'Ghost Tropic' was a big influence on 'Outside', especially on "The Forest at Night". I love the endless repetition of the chord structure, being gradually built on, taken apart, with the words filling the space made by those cavernous drums...

I found out about Japanese band Dip in the Pool a couple years ago thanks to the internet.
