I've always been pretty intrigued by LA's Pocahaunted, aka the (possibly self-proclaimed) "Olsen Twins of blissed out drone." But the prolific duo's new record Island Diamonds is far and away the most insane thing they've ever done. Made up of four epic grimy/dubby tribal drones that are currently threatening to explode my subwoofer, this record is entirely massive and daunting, a little scary, and totally badass. Every jam on the LP clocks in at around 8 minutes long; here's a nearly 4-minute excerpt of one of the standouts, taken from the band's myspace page.
Only 500 clear yellow vinyl copies of Island Diamonds were pressed, and they will sell out. I got mine here.
