Our intro to Bay Area "backroom disco" duo Brijean -- the project of percussionist Brijean Murphy, who has worked with GvsB favs Toro Y Moi, U.S. Girls, and Poolside, among others -- came via the shimmery, sensuous single "Show and Tell", which sounds a bit like Stereolab gone full-on dreamy disco-pop, Brijean's silky vocals wafting over an infectious tropical groove that feels destined to soundtrack countless pool parties and topdown twilight drives up the coast. We were entranced, so it goes without saying that we're very psyched to premiere the duo's stellar new debut EP Walkie Talkie, a blissfully transportive and fleeting collection of equally tight jams that finds Brijean expanding on their penchant for plush, breezy exotica and balmy summer vibes. The EP is officially out this Friday on Native Cat, but you can stream it now in all its glory below. And if you're feeling it as much as we are, contribute $20 here to help get this thing get a much-deserved vinyl pressing, and receive a copy of the record with a limited edition art print made by Brijean + an unreleased track.
