premiere: Lisel – “One At a Time”

Singularly talented singer + experimental pop luminary Eliza Bagg aka Lisel unveils the first single from her incredible new album Patterns for Auto-tuned Voices and Delay, coming next month on Ba Da Bing Records. The record is a prismatic, minimalist-meets-maximalist exploration in merging Lisel's most dynamic and powerful instrument -- her virtuosic voice -- with technology, a thrilling union between the traditional and the hypermodern, the human body and machine. The results, as stunning introduction "One At a Time" suggest, are hypnotic and at times unlike anything you've ever heard, like a mystical score for the most dramatic sci-fi epic never filmed. Lisel explains, “I rely on my body as an object and resonant instrument. Now, what begins inside my body and continues on the computer is one process, and the ideas that result from it are my instrument." She continues, "We are tempted to see rapid technological change as an impediment to the traditions that ground us.
