premiere: Bop English (James Petralli of White Denim) – Dani’s Blues
"get on your surfboard and ride" -- bop english
White Denim's James Petralli has been one our favorite songwriters since we first heard WD's thrillingly frenetic, very intense raw demos on myspace (RIP) almost 10 years ago now. Petralli's always seemed to have a million brilliant, barely-contained ideas up his sleeve, as anyone who's experienced the evolution of his band's adventurous/experimental and often mind-blowing live sets can attest. Over the past 5+ years, he's harnessed and honed these ideas into some of the best jams of his life, in the form of a beautiful, sprawling, and characteristically genre-defying record under his longtime moniker Bop English. Today Bop unveils the album's rollicking opening track, "Dani's Blues (It Was Beyond Our Control)"; listen below, and grab it now on iTunes. Bop English's timeless debut LP Constant Bop is out April 21 via Downtown in the States, and on limited blue & yellow vinyl via Blood and Biscuits.
