London-based Danish composer and viola player Astrid Sonne shares the latest in a series of intriguing and beautiful singles taken from her stellar forthcoming LP Great Doubt, coming later this month on Escho. "Boost" is a mysterious, mercurial instrumental passage that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of Tirzah and Mica Levi, as well as fans of Sonne's fellow luminaries from the exciting and increasingly influential Copenhagen scene, like experimental composer (and Sonne's future tourmate) ML Buch (whose Suntub is still dominating our listening habits), Smerz, and popstar Erika de Casier (who released a great new one of her own today). Sonne tells us about the track: "I made Boost lying in my bed, it’s a quite energetic track coming from a not very energetic place. There's a sense of release to Boost and a feeling of not caring too much, which can be good sometimes when you need to seek out new settings." Listen below, pre-order the album on 180g clear vinyl + catch Astrid on tour with ML Buch next month in the UK.
