The annual Los Angeles-based FYF Fest was humble in size, sweet and yet progressively cool -- like Coachella's little sister that borrowed its clothes. We got to spend the day hopping to shows, eating colored popsicles, and thanking the universe we'd worn proper shoes. All the while getting to hang with the bands that make the heat worth it. Between finding abandoned kitchen sinks with Toro y Moi or snapping shots next to Morrissey's "Vegan" crew vans with Neon Indian — Fuck Yeah Fest didn't disappoint. // photos + words by Claire McKinzie

Check out more of Claire's shots + recap from FYF — including Lower Dens, HEALTH, Mac Demarco, DJ Dodger Stadium, Ed Droste oF Grizzly Bear, and more — after the jump…

TORO y MOI

Smiling, Toro y Moi had the same idea we did: go to the random sink.

DJ DODGER STADIUM // JEROME LOL + SAMO SOUND BOY

Meeting at the crossroads of the artist tent and whirl of people in the sun, DJ Dodger Stadium epitomize relaxed cool.

JANA HUNTER // LOWER DENS

HEALTH

ED DROSTE // GRIZZLY BEAR

MAC DEMARCO

Sitting in a circle with friends, all drawing on each other while eating candy from multicolored baskets. The worlds greatest party.

NEON INDIAN

CHERRY GLAZERR

GIRLPOOL

We bonded by gushing over each other's overalls and the simple coolness of friendship.
