Brooklyn duo Mari Maurice Rubio (aka more eaze) and Lynn Avery (iceblink) announce their self-titled debut album as Pink Must -- coming this month on Copenhagen's 15 love -- with haunting new single "Karaoke of the Bends", a beautifully bittersweet and unabashedly romantic lament on the inescapable feelings of intense yearning and uncertainty that accompany a long-distance relationship. It's also literally about doing karaoke of The Bends, which makes it even more relatable and wistful for me, as I used to pour my heart out to "High and Dry" back in the day. "It’s that kind of corny 'I know I’ll see you soon, but I want to see you tonight' feeling," says Avery, "and doing karaoke of songs from The Bends by Radiohead." This heartfelt gem is the only one Avery sings on the album, prompting her to add, "Singing your own songs still kind of feels like doing karaoke." Check the flickering, karaoke-friendly lyric video, a collab between Avery + Alice Hall, below, and pre-order Pink Must here.
