Thanks to Adam for the heads up on Russian experimental pop luminary Kate Shilonosova, aka NV, and her entrancing and addictive new album Binasu. The adventurous, genre-defying record is teeming with otherworldly, '80s Japanese new wave-indebted pop vibes, and with songs like the very kawaii "Kata" and the twinkling title track recalling the bright playfulness of some of Miharu Koshi's more out-there stuff, it's quickly become one of our favorite underground gems of 2016 so far. That magical artwork by Keith Rankin doesn't hurt either. Binasu is out now on Orange Milk Records:
