new Dallas venue: The Loft

There's a new venue in town: The Loft on South Lamar, a second-story joint attached to the recently opened Palladium Ballroom. We were able to tour the space last week, and we think it has the potential to be one of the dopest venues in town, what with its exposed brick interior and the stellar panoramic view of the downtown skyline, which will serve as the bands' backdrop.

We're hoping their lineup of shows will help fill the void left by the demise of the Gypsy Tearoom, and we're happy to report they're off to a strong start. Bands already confirmed include Low, Bonde Do Role, the Black Lips, Girl Talk, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, and Thunderbirds are Now!, with more to be announced in the very near future. We'll be working with the Loft to help present some of these shows, so expect more from our end when there's more to reveal.
