Shout out to Chaz Bundick for the heads up on the latest signee to his label Company Records, Oakland's Madeline Kenney, and her forthcoming new EP, recorded with Chaz in his Berkeley studio. Madeline's bandcamp bio says of her self-described "twang-hazy dream pop": "It's like if Loretta Lynn had a secret shoegaze project and an obsession with a looper pedal". A lofty description for sure, but it checks out on the EP's lovely, radiant title track, which you can stream in all its bittersweet melancholy below. Madeline Kenney's Signals EP is out this week.
