Lisel -- aka the multi-talented singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Eliza Bagg -- follows up her magical introduction with another absolute stunner from her immersive and otherworldly debut LP Angels on the Slope, coming this summer on Luminelle. "Digital Light Field" glimmers like pixelated sunlight through a crystal prism, with Lisel's towering voice flickering between uncannily synthetic and unmistakably human as it glides over cinematic, retro-futuristic synths with dazzling effect. Lisel says the song is "about our attempts to make sure the things that happen around us are meaningful by capturing them electronically, affirming and insisting on their significance." She elaborates, "We ‘pixelate’ each other in the light fields of our phones, and then shy away from the things in reality we, maybe, really need. The fact that on this record I was mainly processing my own voice -- something human, intuitive, elemental -- with the digital world of the computer, felt really significant. Each song on the album feels like its own individual micro-biome built out of the different versions of how I might use or manipulate my voice in that way.” Watch the gorgeous visuals by Devra Freelander below, and pre-order the record on "statue marble" colored 12" here.
