So I was watching The Fiery Furnaces' performance on Pancake Mountain on DVD last night with some friends, and I was reminded why I fell in love with the band (and Eleanor) in the first place. She has an almost child-like wonder, which comes across in the imaginative, hyperactive, and at times frenetic quality of their music.

But try as I might, I could never get into Rehearsing My Choir. However, as of late, I have been obsessed with their new record, Bitter Tea. I hear the best bits of Blueberry Boat combined with the (relative) accessibility of EP. Highly recommended.
