Presenting our favorite albums of 2021: I've been doing this list for almost 17 years now, and while '21 was maybe not as top heavy as some years past, I feel pretty good calling this one of the strongest lists yet from top to bottom. Still trying to mostly leave Luminelle artists out of this mess unless they make the undeniable and objective album of the year (then what do y'all want me to do?), but a huge shout out to Lisel's dazzling and otherworldly experimental art-pop gem, AND the long-awaited absolute dream of a debut album from MUNYA, both of which are amazing and should be considered for any respectable year-end list. I think I also deserve some credit for having the restraint to leave the first chapter of the new Beach House album off of here.
