Captured Tracks has been on a bit of tear this year. In addition to a handful of solid 7"s (the Mayfair Set, Brilliant Colors, Woods, etc.), Mr. Blank Dogs' label has released two of my favorite 12" EPs of '09 so far: Dum Dum Girls' Yours Alone and now, Wooden Glove, the debut 4-song EP from Toronto's the Bitters (the cover art rules too, by the way). I declared my love for Ben Cook (of Fucked Up) and Aerin Fogel's new project -- specifically the great song "Warrior" -- a couple months back, and I'm pleased to say that Wooden Glove is more of the same raucous, kind of dirty and always insanely catchy "cave pop."
