Washed Out x Gorilla vs. Bear takeover: CODEK – Closer

I came across this song on the legendary lovefingers.org site (RIP) a few years back. I was lucky enough to inherit an archived collection of .mp3s from the site and this song was one of the big highlights for me. I love playing it out DJing - its so infectious and weird and the half-time groove that happens with the beat comes-in makes it so funky. There is very little information I could find about the song online - but it seems like it was originally released on a small African label before eventually getting picked up by Island Records UK. Also gotta love that it was a favorite of the great Daniele Baldelli and the italian cosmic scene. -- Washed Out
