We haven't heard from Paris' Melody Prochet in a minute, aside from the dreamy "Shirim", which was one of our favorite tracks of 2014, and whose official existence sadly seems to have been scrubbed from the internet for some unknown reason (you can, and should, still seek it out through unofficial channels though, because it rules)...

Laure Briard follows up last year's lovely Révélation with the sublime and classic-sounding lead single from her forthcoming new LP, recalling the '60s golden age of vintage French pop. Here’s a recent one from this Swedish band. I like the singing a lot and really like how they go the extra mile to craft synth sounds. They also don’t seem to let the machines do the work which i can appreciate. Im also a fan of the song they did with Gorillaz called Empire Ants with two loosely connected but gracefully navigated sides...

Yumi Zouma came out of nowhere early this year with an EP of softly shimmering, twilit dream-disco that was so pitch-perfect (right down to the cover art; some might even suggest it was 'custom-built' for us) that it almost felt like it was destined to be a fluke, a debut that was surely the result of some kind of serendipitous long-distance magic that a young group has trouble ever recapturing.
