Here's another new driving buzzsaw of a tune from L.A.'s Dum Dum Girls, who, despite being m.i.a. from SXSW, was the subject of more than one overheard conversation down in Austin last week. She tells me this is a song about being left behind, so while her infectious melodies and sublime girl-group harmonies are still in full effect here, they're a little more desolate and further down the well: m

L.A.'s Dum Dum Girls just posted a couple of new videos, both comprised of appropriately winsome vintage found footage, on her youtube channel. The first -- for "Catholicked," which is the song that made us fall in love with DDG in the first place -- features some fitting home movies of a young girl getting, well, catholicked. As I mentioned last month, we've been smitten lately with Dum Dum Girls' "blissed out buzzsaw" of irresistible girl group harmonies and insanely catchy, fuzzed-out noisepop gems. "Jail La La" is without a doubt one of the songs of the year so far, and her dreamy, reverb-soaked new cover of Sonny & Cher's 1965 hit "Baby Don't Go" confirms that DDG can also nail a

Remember that girls post from the other day? A number of commenters/emailers pointed out that L.A.'s Dum Dum Girls were a glaring oversight on my part, and after spending quite a bit of time listening to the tracks on their myspace page (please check out the extremely awesome soaring harmonies on "jail la la"), I'm going to have to agree...
