I found out about Japanese band Dip in the Pool a couple years ago thanks to the internet. They've been inspiring me since -- they have quite a few records and they're all wonderful in their own unique ways. Kind of like a Japanese Cocteau Twins, but with its thick tapestries of sound punctuated by beautiful silence...

Tom asked me to remix a track from his record TOTAL LOSS. I chose "Running Back" because I wanted to give it a bit of swing. When I realized the song needed a verse to round things out and give it the properly Janet vibe I was going for, I asked the man Cadence Weapon to rap on it...

This is a short sci-fi film by my friend Mark Slutsky, with photography by my also friend Bobby Shore (who also shot yet again friend Adam Beck's beautiful video for my song "Exercise 3"). It tells the story of a group of friends yearning to stop the rapid movement of time and developing a device that slows time and locks them in moments of happiness...

Peter Gabriel is a crucial influence in the making of 'Outside'. I tried to imbue most of the songs with a bit of his essence and take cues from some of his techniques as a way to guide myself in developing my song writing, which was a new way of working for me...
