We're psyched to premiere the magical debut single from Barrie, a young Brooklyn band that we expect will win a lot of hearts in 2018. The group, whose members serendipitously converged on NYC from various locales -- Baltimore, Boston, São Paulo, London, and Upstate New York, specifically -- says that every revision to the sumptuous, warmly glowing "Canyons" "was like a swipe of sandpaper, stripping it down and roughing up the sweetness." The end result is a wistful, swaying dream-pop gem that twinkles like hazy city lights on a late-night cruise down Mullholland Drive, and it's an automatic addition to our "best songs of 2018" spotify playlist.
