Here's another wonderful record that, like the Merely LP we mentioned earlier today, sort of came out of nowhere recently and just gets deeper and floors us more with each subsequent listen. Maria Usbeck's sublime debut full-length Amparo was "written and recorded across the span of three years in Ecuador, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Barcelona, Lisbon, Easter Island, Costa Rica, the south of Florida, L.A. and her home in Brooklyn," and was produced by Maria with Caroline Polacheck of Chairlift. Let the warmly soothing lead single "Moai y Yo" gently wash over you below. The Amparo 12" is out May 27 via Cascine / Labrador, just in time to be your reflective summer/tropical island soundtrack:
