Gorgeous, wintry new music from CFCF: Montreal producer/composer Michael Silver describes his excellent new LP as "kind of a dark, folky take on ambient and new age music" that reflects the wide range of his influences at the time, including "Joni Mitchell, Laraaji, Terry Callier, Mount Eerie, Brian Eno, Steve Reich, Pat Metheny, Terje Rypdal, among many others." Featuring Silver's soothing/pensive vocals and acoustic guitar, it's almost hard to believe "The Ruined Map" comes from the same dude responsible for the essential Night Bus mix trilogy. Radiance and Submission is out next month on limited special edition clear vinyl with cover art by Matsuda Matsuo (pictured above) via Driftless Recordings.
