it’s so hard to tell who’s going to love you the best

Light in the Attic Records continues their flawless ’09 reissue game (see the Monks, Serge Gainsbourg, Rodriguez) with the 180g vinyl-only reissue of the late Karen Dalton‘s 1969 Capitol Records debut, It’s So Hard To Tell Who’s Going To Love You The Best. This is the first vinyl reissue of this record, and the recording was re-mastered from the original tapes. Some perspective: Bob Dylan once said Dalton “had a voice like Billie Holiday’s and played the guitar like Jimmy Reed,” while Devendra Banhart has called her “the most soulful singer in the universe.”

The label hooked us up with a copy of the reissue to give away; take a listen to the song below, and if you’d like a copy, just leave your name in the comments and I’ll pick a winner next week. This thing looks super nice, and features a “beautiful ‘old school’ tip-on jacket with original artwork plus rare photos and new liner notes…”
