Last month, Liz Harris of Grouper announced the debut LP from her "pop group" Helen, and unveiled the record's stellar lead single "Motorcycle", a track that we said at the time maintained "all the beautiful, delicate haze of a Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill-era Grouper song, before erupting into a glorious, blown-out fuzz-pop jam." Today the band unveils another gorgeous blown-out track from the record, and while not a Hole cover, "Violet" is an exquisitely explosive missive, a dreamy lullaby buried in embers and ash, until the din starts to disintegrate over the last minute or so, leaving only Harris' inimitable ghostly voice in its wake. the original faces is out September 4 on Kranky.
