The super official, finally final radio edit finally drops on iTunes:
Finally! On repeat.
yo is anyone else disappointed by this shit
yeah, it’s kinda weak. feels like a disney movie ost or something. i’m sure pharrell has a lot to do with my disdain tho
no drop here bro.
Yes. You are the only one. I
I too am a bit disappointed. But it’s still quite good though.
Yes. I, too, am disappointed by this track. Pharrell’s breathe-outs at the end of every line is like listening to the fat little girl who thinks she’s gonna be the next Madonna. The guy just sucks. I love the track other than his singing, though, so I have very high hopes for the rest of the release. Especially since I preordered the vinyl.
lol @ mexican monkey tag
I could do without the singing.
This is crap. Why the hype? Here’s my hipster card. I give up.
Is better ‘GRINGO MONKEY?’ xD
I really doubt this is really. The singing is crap.
nevermind, itunes link… such disappointment
if you’re disappointed its because you’ve been hyping it up in your head/listening to the remixes of short clips and expecting so much out of one song. this shit is redefining disco, its fucking gold.
That “this is redefining disco” part it an interesting way of framing it. If you think of it that way then it actually it a good song.
I want to hear the album version now, for comparison.
i like it
Man anyone who is hating on this song clearly doesn’t know what this is all about. Go back and listen to your shitty dubstep or trap music. This is way more sophisticated than any of that trash.
Is it fun to be THAT guy?
This is AMAZING!! So dope. Pharell sounds great. NIle Rodgers killin it. Can’t wait to hear this at the club this weekend.
Ohhhh.. That last part..
… (fast forwards to 2:20)… There we go!
To the complainers: Shut the fuck up you dubstep douchebags. Go back to your bass drops. All you do is encourage shitty dance music.
This is fuckin amazing
instead of a radio edit, can i get a second half on repeat edit?
That bass line is the HOTNESS!!! VIA DAFT!
Pharell part = boring.
This song = bad.
I’ve got a challenge for everybody jizzing over this. Name a worse DP song? You cant.
Most of Homework…
love this! is it just me, or does anyone else hear what sounds like avey tare doing back up vox on this?
This is pretty damn awesome. It’s a departure from DP in many ways – focusing on vocals is new.
It’s odd; the song reaction is more mixed than I would have expected.
For the skeptical ones, I’d suggest going back and reading the reviews for Discovery when it came out, just to remind ourselves—12 years ago, it took everybody a while to realize how brain-melty and revolutionary Discovery was.
“While Discovery embraces the cheesiness of the lamest of lame music, the strategy frequently comes across as gimmickry. The album isn’t so much fun as it is silly” – AV Club
“There are better beats on the damn Jadakiss CD.” – Village Voice
“In truth, Discovery rarely invokes its predecessor’s slap-bass funk, and few other tracks resemble the obviously single-designed “One More Time.” – Pitchfork
“[I]t grows anonymous, and not in the artful way that Daft Punk used to capitalize on. The album becomes muddled — not only in the spectrum between serious and jokey but in its sense of an identity.” – Rolling Stone
There we go.
I love this. All about groove. Pharrell’s vocals add a delicious element IMO.
Music is awesome of course. DP is amazing. Singing not to my taste, really. Maybe if he was singing through a vocoder.
Why do i have to listen to 2 minutes and 30 seconds of the beegees to hear daft punk?
Good point, but the BeeGees are awesome, so it’s actually a compliment.
