Bizarre and frustrating are appropriate descriptors. Brilliant is definitely not. Eff this hipster d-bag. #studiomeltdown.
hipster ?? dude hes been making this shit since like 90. if anything hes not a hipster. hes OG. so friguv .
He’s an A-grade hipster celeb. Period. Just cuz you’re old and been around hipsters and the lo-fi indie cassette-only-release/dress-like-an-asshole scene your whole musical career doesn’t mean you’re somehow above/immune to the moniker. Long standing indie cred does not a non-hipster maketh. In fact, it is an inarguable strengthener of hipsterdom. This is basic logic bro. #everythingiseverything
Look at Adam hash-tagging like a Hipster! #nobodycaresifyoudontlikethealbum #cyberprick
Haha, right? Hash tagging is so lame.
I like!
truely magical.. i hope they make a kewl video
I’ve been listening to the album non stop for a few weeks now, and like the last album, find it absolutely brilliant.
(…and being in my 40s, I wouldn’t in the least bit consider myself a “hipster”)
boy, he really makes you work for that Baby payoff at the end.
R. Stevie Pink
I listen to it for the whole day on the loop – so I do like it a lot… there are two or three “frustrating” tracks but Baby at the end is worth it. What a magnificent track
Not sure I understand what’s “frustrating” about this record (uncompromising maybe, but that’s always been Pink’s thing.) …bizarre & brilliant are definitely apt descriptors. I guess if 13 tracks of instant hooks and air-tight playing is frustrating, then yea, I guess call this the most frustrating record of the year.
i think this is a studio meltdown – but in a fascinating way.
I can’t get enough of this. I’m hooked. I was up and down on the last album. I loved some of the songs and was just okay on some others.
I love when people write off something with a modern pejorative. That’s ‘hipster’. That’s ‘hippie’. Say something original and have a conversation.
I’m down with this album so far. I’m on song 5 and I’m heavily digging it. Hold on. Song 5 isn’t my favorite. Okay, but song 1 and 3 so far are freaking fantastic.
if you were to say frustrating, you’d be right. i got a headache from a few songs – but it’s still interesting to listen to.
it seems like he’s just taking the piss out of music itself
Glad to hear ariel is using an old favorite – “real bad liar” – for the rhythm to “pink slime.”
