This is really good. Love how she says “bitch-eeeeeen”.
First few listens make me think of The Pretenders – which I mean as a compliment.
And while the bio for the album doesn’t back this up, with the break-up and all that – if this song is an indication of the album, it sounds like it would actually be fun to see live – and though “fun” is a new adjective in the Cat Power world, I prefer it over the overly-mopey stuff…
It’s just all right until the second verse, she kind of mumbles a bit and it’s hard to hear her usually poignant lyrics.
Sounds like she’s having fun. Love it.
