Daniel Lopatin‘s gorgeous, floating deconstruction of a classic, via @0PN:

This is great. I feel like people have forgotten ‘the field’s’ deconstruction of this song tho… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktx9HorB0EM&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLF285D961BBF26133
I um– nope.
Original was better. As was Beck’s version. Stuttery, chopped up melodies do not vibe well with steady new age harmonic chanting. It has a few brief moments where it works, but it mostly just sounds like something’s broken. Sry.
no shit the original was better
that’s because it is broken, a beautiful destruction
nothing’s broken here. it’s just been reassembled by future humans, who, for whatever reason, didn’t have the capacity to understood the original.
sorry, understood = understand.. i don’t understand current language.
Dig it
i would do unspeakable things to obtain this mp3 file
